Troop 3851
2023 Summer Camp Personal Packlist
Parents,
This list is intended to give your scout a guideline as to what is needed at camp. It is by no means exhaustive nor intended to restrict what the scout brings, so long as the item fits in his backpack, is appropriate for a scout camp, and is not listed as prohibited. While I do not prohibit personal electronics, I do discourage their use during troop activities or if the scout is separating himself from the group when using them (or as a result of using them). Please refer to the recently update Troop Personal Electronics Policy for guidance. If you need to contact your son while at camp, please contact me first – or one of the other Scoutmasters. I will have my cell phones with me at all times. As this is often the first time a scout is away from home for an extended period, this will help manage any issues of homesickness they may experience. Additionally, there is no place for the scouts to charge any of their electronics while in camp.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this packlist, please do not hesitate to give me a call. The troop does have some gear which can be checked out by the scout for use during campouts. Please let me know if there is anything your scout needs.
We will be holding a pack check on Thursday, July 13th at 7:00 pm at Dave Yeager’s home, where we will review the contents of each scout’s pack. This will require the scout to completely unpack his pack and repack it while there. They should come prepared to leave the pack in the trailer at this time. Should the scout have forgotten something, he may bring it back during this time frame, or on Monday morning.
Thank You,
Hank Hoffer
Scoutmaster
